The reality of becoming a young parent
23/07/12
Bromford Support colleagues in Northampton have been working
with young people at a local senior school to understand the
reality of becoming a young parent.
The workshop gave young people opportunity to share their
thoughts on teenage pregnancy and explore some myths.
Their were some great learning outcomes from the day with
students recognising the difficulties associated with being a young
parent, the benefits of contraception and waiting until you are
older and financially secure before having a baby.
The Deputy Head Teacher from the school commented: "We have been
very pleased to welcome the ladies from Bromford into our
school. Tutors and students alike have found the sessions to
be well planned and delivered, highly informative and an effective
deterrent against teenage pregnancy. I would highly recommend
this programme for all teenagers".
