How do I apply for a rented home?

Some of our homes are available to rent directly from us. Use the property search page to find a home you are interested in and see restrictions and how to apply. When you have found a home you are interested in, follow the instructions on the advert to apply.

Choice Based Lettings Scheme:

To apply for many of our rented homes, you will first need to register with the Choice Based Lettings (CBL) scheme in the area you want to live. This makes the allocation of properties simpler and more transparent, allowing you to make a choice about where you live.

Once registered, you can apply (or bid) for available homes that suit you and your housing needs. Once bidding has closed we will contact the successful applicant by phone. We will then arrange to visit you at your current home and invite you to view the property before you make your decision.

In some areas, the Local Authority runs a waiting list instead of a Choice Based Lettings scheme. To find a waiting list, click on the link below for Choice Based Lettings schemes. Then click on the region you want to live in, click on the link to the Local Authority's website and select their housing waiting list.  Register your details on the waiting list for your chosen area.
